Paul Portelli
Paul Portelli recently joined the Northumberland CFDC as a part-time business specialist with particular responsibilities in leveraging the Community Futures mandates of business lending, counselling and community development in assisting the creative and retail sectors in their business development efforts.
Mr. Portelli is an accomplished sculptor and businessman who until recently operated the Portelli Gallery in Warkworth, Ontario. Paul's commitment to the community was pivotal in assisting the Village of Warkworth to develop a downtown business and cultural district, playing a leadership role as the Chair of the Advertising Committee specifically working towards branding the award winning community.
Paul has extensive experience in teaching and speaking on visual merchandising, consumer behaviour, collaborative marketing and market readiness for artists and retailers throughout Ontario. Paul has a Seneca College diploma in Visual Merchandising, Business Procedures and Arts and is a former student of both the Ontario College of Art and Haliburton School of the Arts. He is currently completing teaching assignments at the Haliburton campus of Fleming College as well as artist market readiness programs on behalf of the 15 Community Futures of Eastern Ontario. Paul's continued work with local arts organizations coupled with his demonstrated abilities to work in partnership in building community capacity are key to assisting the organization to deliver its mandates.
